Late last night was not only the world premiere of THE DARK KNIGHT RISES(which has grossed over $30 million from those screenings[with more financial grosses to come]),but of a tragic event that unfortunately took place during those screenings in a Aurora,Colorado theater when 24 year old James Holmes interrupted one of the screenings and shot amongst the crowded audience(with a gas cannister laying near his feet),killing 14 people and injuring many others at the nearby neighboring screening room,and was later arrested for committing this most horrid incident.
As both President Brack Obama and Presidential canididate Mitt Romney gave their kind condolences to the families and friends of the shotting vitcims,all kinds of the usual inane and insane stuff has been popping up on what caused it all,ranging from the likes of a strong lack of Christian values to gun controls laws not being regulated,to the world of violent movies,music,and video games,to the current social and political climate of the world,to even the strong rivalry that lays between the fans of Batman and Christopher Nolan and the fans of The Avengers and Joss Whedon(which both fanbases of both films and both filmmakers need to stop and just have peace with each other),and so on and so on. Please—-let’s just forget about all of this major nonsense and just be appreciative that this maniac has been caught and will get the fullest sentence served to him for ruining the night of many who came to the world of movies to escape the cold and cynical world of real life,as well as give out fullest condolences to the families and friends of last night’s shooting victims(and the victims themselves),and not be living in fear of going to the nearest local movie theater(to see any movie that’s playing),and go just see and support THE DARK KNIGHT RISES(which I plan to see this weekend,whether or not any psychotic shooters will invade the theaters to dispute the screening[only to get tackled and thrown out by me,or any tough guys that are in the audience]).
