As much as I understand Roger Ebert’s point about how Sequelitis(that was so popular in the late 80s and early 90s)is dominating Hollywood this box office Summer,Rog just needs to remember that sequels have been around for the last 30+ years, since the popularity of THE GODFATHER,STAR WARS,FRIDAY THE 13TH.,PLANET OF THE APES,and JAWS have made sequels a very successul sub-genre at the box office and as gratuitious as some of them are they at least make plenty of money for Tinseltown to keep on running and making more movies, and as much as you can gripe and moan about those endless sequels(as well as remakes),let’s just remember that original films will will thrive on and prosper(since Hollwood can’t exist without them).
